Cousins

This weekend Blake got to spend some time with his cute cousins from Alabama. It is always so fun to watch Kiley and Reese with him. They are so sweet to him and love him so well. Some of my favorite moments included overhearing Reese telling Leah how cute baby Blake was...I'm telling you these girls are so sweet! Anyways it was a very short but very fun weekend just being with family.

While they were here we played a lot of library, did a lot of coloring, had a couple dance parties, went to the park, and ate a lot of cookies....well I did at least! Side note: Kiley's teeth are not naturally blue, we have airheads to thank for the blue mouth!

We have LOVED having the Hawarah's live so close to us and we are so sad they are moving away. I really should have taken more pictures of this last trip...unfortunately my brain doesn't think about these things until it is too late! Hawarah's you will be definitely be missed! Thank you for taking time to come see us and for loving little Blake so well! Enjoy Texas!

First Food

We finally decided it was time to give Blake some rice cereal and to be honest I'm not sure who it was harder on me, Tom, or Blake! For me, rice cereal means that Blake doesn't need me as much to survive....I mean I kind of like that he is so dependent on me! For Tom, it meant that Blake was growing up which is happening too fast anyways. And for Blake....well I can't imagine rice cereal tasting all that good but I could be wrong! But it was time. He was constantly watching us while we ate, following our food and drinks with his eyes and trying to grab them at any opportunity he could. So we did it. We loaded him up with his clean new bib, sat him in his bumbo chair, and with the camera ready to record we fed Blake his first food ever....(insert tears)

And he was ready for it...(look at him grabbing for the spoon! What a little cutie!)
Or was he??

And the verdict is...

 ...

...he likes his fingers better! :)

Okay, okay in all seriousness I'm pretty sure he likes it. But who can tell with this kid?! He has such a laid back personality he seems to like everything in this world! It was such a fun, big moment for us to watch Blake eat "real food". I'm anxious to see what his next "first" will be...maybe saying mama?!?! :) A girl can dream right?!

5 Months....well sort of

I know what you're thinking and let me confirm, it HAS been forever since I last posted. Who knew moving and getting a new job would keep me so busy?! In the time that has passed Blake had his 5 month birthday which is so crazy to me that he has been alive that long! In my defense I did try to take his picture a few days ago...

...and in his defense he was sick. Needless to say I was forced to put the camera down and take his pictures another day.

At 5 months Blake is drooling, laughing, squealing with excitement, rolling over, sleeping like a champ, and ruining majority of his clothes with his explosive bowel movements. He also went to the nursery for the first time (yes I cried, no he did not. I had to take home the chair cover he was sitting in to wash it...again it's those explosive bowels, so embarrassing!). He is enjoying tummy time, grabbing his feet, grabbing my hair, grabbing everything in front of him, and playing in his exersaucer. Blake is so fun to have around and we are loving watching him grow up, even if it is happening too fast!
