Meet Virginia

Since majority of the Kubalewski's were born in March, Tom and I decided to head to Virginia this past week to celebrate everyone's birthday...including Blake's (AHHHH!!!).

I guess it was good for me to prepare myself before his actual birthday comes.

Blake was actually less interested in the yummy cupcake....

And more interested in the plastic spoon...crazy kid!

After the let down of his non-interest in cupcakes he opened his gifts (which he was surprisingly good at...I guess he IS like me!)

Besides balls and books there is not much that Blake is obsessed with, other than dogs. Now, not growing up with dogs this love of his gives me complete anxiety!! He would not leave them alone and they welcomed his company with many licks to the face and mouth...(shudder)...
Needless to say I didn't take many pictures since I was on constant watch and didn't find it as endearing as Tom did!

We went to a Thai-French restaurant for everyone's birthday which was actually delicious despite the random combo.

We spent a lot of time outdoors where not everything was fun and games. :)

Blake had some night time cuddles with Nina.

And he spent much of his time playing with the fridge magnets.

We even went to Maryland a couple times to visit old friends which was wonderful. We miss the small town life and all of our friends and family but I have to admit, it is great to be back in sunny Florida!

11 Months...Can it be?!

It is absolutely crazy that Blake is 11 months old! Time has honestly flown by. This month Blake has become quite the cruiser. He pulls himself up on anything he can reach and has even been caught standing on his own a couple times. He is obsessed with books, the outdoors, balls, peaches, and blueberries. He got his SEVENTH tooth (whew) and is able to talk in a string of dadada's. He has developed such a silly personality. He will often do something and then look back at us laughing waiting for us to laugh with him. He loves blowing raspberries with his lips and moving his tongue back and forth. He is getting to be so much fun bringing lots of joy and laughter to the Kubalewski household.

It is so crazy to think we will be celebrating his first birthday next month!!! I. Am. In. Denial.

Where does the time go?!

Ahhh! It has been forever since I've updated Blake's blog! So much has happened since my last 9 month post. For starters Blake turned 10 months (and is almost 11...crazy!). I've been racking my brain to think about the new things he was doing at ten months and of course I can hardly remember! I know he was growling a lot more, pulling himself up, cruising along anything he can reach, waving (at ten months he was waving only to papa....so sweet), eating finger foods, meeting his cousins, and flying on planes.

All of my pictures are on my old computer so here are some candid shots I've taken recently. Enjoy!

Blake's new obsession is books! He immediately drops what he is doing and comes to sit in your lap if you have a book in your hands.

Finger Food!

Finger painting a Valentine for his dad. This was an...interesting experience but Blake is starting to get the hang of it and is getting much better!

Playing outside is another one of Blake's favorite things to do.

Ha ha! He is so fun to play with!

Love him! :)

9 Months

Wheew, where does the time go?! It is so hard to believe that Blake is 9 months old! We have loved watching him show more of his personality and he has recently changed our lives forever with a little 8 letter word I like to call CRAWLING! He is all over the place! What happened to my sweet boy who was so content just sitting in my arms or in the same spot of a room playing with toys?! The second I set him down (if he'll let me) he is off making our lives very interesting. When he isn't crawling he is making us hold his hands as he walks us around every room in our house. Oh the joys of parenting!

Blowing raspberries as he crawls...crazy kid!

 A rare still moment...

 That didn't last long.

Again it is getting so hard to remember what he does each month (and to take his monthly pictures!), but at 9 months he is crawling, blowing raspberries (he does this for so long that he ends up cracking up when he is finished), growling, walking when we hold his hands, singing, ma ma ma-ing when he is upset, and da da da-ing when he is happy, eating puffs, and weighing 20.8 lbs at 27 1/4 inches long (50-75th percentile for weight....and 25th percentile for height. Poor little guy!).

First Christmas

Although Blake couldn't have cared less about Christmas morning, it was still fun to wake up and open presents with him. We didn't get him much but what he did get he seems to love. Tom and I can't wait for him to be old enough to get excited about Christmas but until then I'll leave you with some pictures of our quiet relaxing Christmas.

Although I am a firm believer that you can never start kids too early on deodorant, this was not one of his Christmas gifts!

I'm sure there will be many more of these pictures in years to come.

Blake literally held on for his dear little life the whole ride!

It was a perfect 1st Christmas as a family of three.
