One

Wheew! What. A. Year. I must say I have such a cool kid! Blake has really started showing more of his personality which is so fun for us. He can tell us what a duck says, he uses objects to crawl around on (as seen here), he is becoming such a picky eater, he is obsessed with grapes, he has 9 teeth, he dances, he claps, he throws tantrums (which make me laugh), he is a hardcore splasher during bath time, he gives kisses, he loves balls and cars, oh yeah and he started walking! It is so crazy to think about how much he has grown in just one month.

Here are the final pictures of our monthly calendar shots. I have to admit I'm thankful they are over! It was getting pretty tricky to keep him in one spot long enough to snap a photo!

Blake looks so thrilled that I put a birthday hat on him and sat him on a calendar! Ha!

Here he is "talking on the phone" instead of saying "hello" he says "Guh"

For his actual birthday we kept it pretty low key. Tom got off work early, Blake opened some gifts, and we headed down to San Marco for a little birthday stroll. We actually accidentally ran into the Jacksonville Friendship Fountain (I may have just made that name up...I can't think of what it is called!) so we got out, took some pics, and sat by the beautiful brown river water! :)

 So silly!

Love him! Now if we can just get him to say "Mama"...

1st Birthday

I feel like my feelings on today can best be described by Amy Grant..."Oh how the years go by. Oh how the love brings tears to my eyes. All through the changes the soul never dies, we laugh, we fight, we cry, as the years go by" HAHA! Totally kidding, but seriously where did the year go?!?! BLAKEY CAKES IS ONE!!!!

We celebrated by having a balls and balloons party where there were literally balls and balloons everywhere.

The party was exactly what we wanted, people we love celebrating our little guy. It was awesome! **WARNING: Lots of pictures below! :)

The boys with their balls ;)

Tom providing an infomercial on Coasterworks Coasters at the party
(waterstonecoasters.com go get some!) :)

What you don't see in these pictures is that 5 minutes before this mess Blake was picking off and eating one sprinkle at a time! Crazy kid!

So glad these two made the drive down! And a special thanks to Heidi for being our official photographer for the day!

The party was perfect and we are so grateful for all the people who love Blake. More about what all Blake is doing at 1 on the next post.

Meet Virginia

Since majority of the Kubalewski's were born in March, Tom and I decided to head to Virginia this past week to celebrate everyone's birthday...including Blake's (AHHHH!!!).

I guess it was good for me to prepare myself before his actual birthday comes.

Blake was actually less interested in the yummy cupcake....

And more interested in the plastic spoon...crazy kid!

After the let down of his non-interest in cupcakes he opened his gifts (which he was surprisingly good at...I guess he IS like me!)

Besides balls and books there is not much that Blake is obsessed with, other than dogs. Now, not growing up with dogs this love of his gives me complete anxiety!! He would not leave them alone and they welcomed his company with many licks to the face and mouth...(shudder)...
Needless to say I didn't take many pictures since I was on constant watch and didn't find it as endearing as Tom did!

We went to a Thai-French restaurant for everyone's birthday which was actually delicious despite the random combo.

We spent a lot of time outdoors where not everything was fun and games. :)

Blake had some night time cuddles with Nina.

And he spent much of his time playing with the fridge magnets.

We even went to Maryland a couple times to visit old friends which was wonderful. We miss the small town life and all of our friends and family but I have to admit, it is great to be back in sunny Florida!
